Rah Rah Release Final Single Before Farewell Concerts

After more than a decade, Regina’s Rah Rah have decided to end their tenure. This indie-rock powerhouse served as an inspiration for other prairie bands, having toured North America, Europe and Japan extensively while releasing four LPs and two EPs. In their history, they received countless accolades including Juno and Polaris Prize nominations, as well as several WCMA noms, one of which brought home a win for “Best Alternative Album” for The Poet’s Dead.

Their rambunctious live shows were always talked about as the band would often incorporate confetti, balloons, robot cats, piñatas, regular instrument-switching and even using PopRocks candy as instruments. With a relentless touring attitude and their energetic performances, Rah Rah earned themselves opening slots for high profile acts like The Weakerthans, Sam Roberts Band, Wintersleep, Minus the Bear, Said the Whale, Dear Rouge and Plants & Animals.

Since 2012 the permanent line-up has consisted of Jeffrey Romanyk, Kristina Hedlund, Joel Passmore, Erin Passmore and Marshall Burns. Other musicians to perform and record with the band over the years included Kyrie Kristmanson, Leif Thorseth, Samra Sahlu, Vanessa Benson and Dan Crozier.

After touring the release of 2015’s Vessels, the band went on hiatus. During this break, Kristina and Erin have pursued their education, Jeffrey has remained busy touring with many bands (most recently Ponteix), Joel has been busy with Vancouver’s Yawn, and Marshall recently released his first solo album Dogs and Booze.

We are so excited to have the honour of giving the world the final single from Rah Rah. The track is called “Art Holds No Truth” and it was an outtake from the Vessels sessions. The band liked the track but couldn’t make it it fit into the albums aesthetic. Enjoy this brand new song below:
