The Den stormed onto Edmonton’s music scene in 2016 with their dreamy indie-pop stylings. The band was everywhere and seemed ready for total Edmonton domination… then… they kind of disappeared. We are very happy to report that they are returning in 2020 with their debut album, Motions. When asked about the album, the band said:

“When we set out to make this record, it started as a series of cassette demos we tracked in a basement that looked and felt like a time capsule preserved from the 1960's. We locked ourselves away, on lush green shag carpet, and under very little light, we cut the bones for this record. The space, the gear, and the process, it can all be heard even though these songs have taken on their final form.”

Today we are excited to be delivering you the records first single called “Highway Bloodline”. The song features catchy melodies, synth nostalgia, and a driving rhythm section. We’re told that it’s a track that pays homage to the songs of their youth. The tune is a perfect accompaniment to a late night drive across the prairies they call home. Watch out for The Den on the road in the Spring, they’ll be test driving the new songs before the album is released in the Winter. Be among the first to hear “Highway Bloodline”.

Stay tuned to the bands website for tour date announcements and future releases from Motions. Below, watch a live video “Highway Bloodline”, recorded in Edmonton's historic Knox Church.
