Edmonton indie-rock act Electricity for Everybody! are gifting us with a two track preview of their upcoming album, The Husk, and all they’re asking in return is to help one of Edmonton’s most loved venues, The Aviary.

In a statement from the band, they explain:

“The Aviary brings a unique combination of live music, theatre, visual arts, and pop-up food events to Edmonton. Like all music and arts venues during these crazy, difficult times, our good pals at The Aviary could do with a hand. To that end, we’ve decided to give folks a peek at our next album, The Husk, to raise some funds for our favourite cultural and community hub.

All funds raised by this Bandcamp exclusive will go to support The Aviary. Starting on Friday, June 5, visit electricityforeverybody.bandcamp.com to download the two-track single! On that day, Bandcamp will forgo their portion of the sales, so all funds will go to the artists, and so in this case, The Aviary!”

This generous show of love for one of Edmonton’s most inclusive community venues comes one week after The Aviary’s post-lockdown re-opening. The venue currently has two upcoming events on their calendar. Today (June 5th) you can meet up with your bike to join a convoy down to the Black Lives Matter protest at the Alberta Legislature. On July 3rd they will be hosting an art show featuring works by Leah Louden and Shauna Kelly and live music from Kimberley MacGregor.

Although the doors are slowly opening back up, this beloved venue still needs community help, so please check out these incredible two tracks from Electricity for Everybody then head over to their Bandcamp page to support The Aviary!
