Single Premiere: Atomicos - Left Coast (b/w Clambake)

Prairie surf? Is that a thing?… Indeed it is.

Surfing the wheat fields of Lethbridge, Alberta, is a band that doesn’t need the beach to inspire their sun-soaked surf vibes.

Introducing Atomicos.

Well perhaps not introducing to everyone. Their 2017 debut album Surfodelic picked up some steam at campus stations in Alberta. The band began work on their sophomore record in mid-2018, but due to line-up changes and the members involvements in other projects (Starpainter, Cope, Facecut) it was shelved and revisited at the beginning of 2020. Now, rather than releasing it in album form, Atomicos have decided to put it out as a series of singles starting with Left Coast (b/w Clambake) on September 7th, 2020.

“Left Coast” has a groovy, psych sound, while “Clambake” goes back further in time with its oldies vibe. The tracks were recorded by Quint Viskup (who engineered Surfodelic) and mastered by Jon Martin (Doug Hoyer, The New Weather Machine, Cope).
