The Cups N Cakes Network is happy to introduce music fans to Bree & Brown. This Regina based duo share songs for friends, neighbours, brothers, old dogs and lovers. From kitchen table conversations to meeting at late-night spots, their music tells a familiar story. Consisting of Saskatchewan-based musicians Lexi Buzash and Brigid McNutt, the backbone of their sound is the fiddle and banjo. These instruments create the backdrop for conversational lyrics that bring to life the stories of a full cast of characters.

Today we a delivering their debut single called, “Dorothy, I Know.” Cups N Cakes reached out to Brigid McNutt to learn more:

“This song came together nicely right from the start. When I really think about it, it’s the first song that we wrote as a duo. So I think it represents the beginnings of us as Bree & Brown pretty wholeheartedly. ‘Dorothy, I Know’ is a song about staying close to home for the summer. Dorothy tries to keep her optimism alive and well, however contrived it might be at times. She’s sun soaked, feeling restless and all she really needs is a holiday.”
