Premiere: David Ivan Neil - "Learn To Swim"
Lo-fi, outsider-folk artist, David Ivan Neil has become a Cups N Cakes favourite. His songs are vignettes of life, love, and loss with equal doses of humour and sorrow that burst into our hearts from Neil’s idiosyncratic delivery that is unique and addictive.
Today we are excited to announce a split EP that David Ivan Neil has done with South Carolina based Roger Mindwater. While the pair are located at opposite ends of the continent, there is a kindred sound shared by the two.
When asked how the two began collaborating on an EP, David Ivan Neil offered:
"My recollection is we were both reviewed by the same blog. I just really loved this weird, heartfelt homemade stuff he was putting out".
The split is called Two Headed Coin and it’s set for release on May 7th through Kamloops imprint, Factotum Co. Today we are very excited to premiere David Ivan Neil’s song, “Learn To Swim.”
