Premiere: Cobra & Vulture - Waking Early

It’s been a long time since Montreal trio, Cobra & Vulture graced us with their presence. The band turned a lot of heads with a creative burst of fantastic indie-rock from 2011 - 2013 that included two EPs and one full length. That album, entitled Grasslands, set a high water mark for indie-rock in Canada and is still revered to this day.

If you’re new to this fantastic band, they feature delightful harmonies over an intertwined dual guitar attack care of the band’s two songwriters, Erin Ross and Amber Goodwyn (Natural Sympathies, Dialtone). Their guitar interplay is wild and unpredictable but its kept on the rails by the drumming of Jeremy MacCuish (Nancy Pants, Parlovr, Nanimal, Smokes). With Goodwyn currently in Regina and both Ross and MacCuish still rooted in Montreal, the idea of Cobra & Vulture returning with new music was far from our minds but today, we are very happy to report that our minds have been blown!

We are over the moon to be premiering the first single from Cobra & Vulture’s triumphant return. The song is called “Waking Early” and will be from a 12 track album that is slated for release in early 2022. From the opening, we are quickly reminded of what we’ve been missing. Smart indie rock guitar hooks, explosive drums, gorgeous vocal harmonies and lyrics that will have you hitting repeat. Enjoy and keep your eyes and ears open for a coupe more singles over the coming months.
