Premiere: Anunnaki - The Golden Gate Of The Sun

Today we are very happy to announce a new album from the psychedelic-metal duo, Anunnaki. Comprised of Dave Read (Moth & Locusts) and Arlen Thompson (Wolf Parade), this Nanaimo based powerhouse have become known for exploring the historically mystical through instrumental mayhem that features sludgy stoner metal with forays into experimental drone tangents.

Their new effort is a three song EP called Martyr of Alexandria and it will be released digitally and on vinyl through NoiseAgonyMayhem and Cardinal Fuzz on October 8th.

The EP dives even deeper into the bands historical fascinations with 30 minutes of mind numbing music that examines the demise of Hypatia, a pagan philosopher, astronomer, and mathematician known as a teacher of great wisdom way back in late 300s AD. As the title of the EP might suggest, Hypatia was martyred in 415 AD by a Christian mob and now, 1,606 years later, Anunnaki pay tribute.
