Owen Davies Single Premiere Series - Part 3

We are very excited to continue our five part, Owen Davies, premiere series with Part Three!

This series will see the Cups N Cakes Network sharing a new single every Friday leading up to the release of Owen Davies’ upcoming EP, Gravel Dreams. This series is being done as a partnership with Davies himself. As Cups N Cakes shares the new singles on our website, Owen will release the tracks in their entirety on his Instagram and Facebook pages.

For the uninitiated, Owen Davies is a East Coast singer/songwriter that blends elements of folk and country with psych and indie rock. He’s been a favourite of the Cups N Cakes team for years with everything he releases managing to find a spot in our year end coverage. Most recently, we placed his Pasta On The Moon EP in the number 3 position on our “Best EPs of 2021” list.

Gravel Dreams will arrive on May 6th and today we are premiering “Nighthawks”. For today’s release, Davies shared some of his thoughts on the track:

“The song "Nighthawks" explores the idea of belonging to some place or feeling a sense of "home". I think alot of people can sympathize with the feeling of no longer feeling like you belong to one place or are unsure as to where "home" is. I take some comfort in the chorus idea that "we all belong to where we come from even when we leave.”
