Premiere: Ava Wild - Take Me Out Dancing
Saskatchewan artist, Ava Wild is gearing up for the release of her new album, Properesque, the follow-up to Existing, her 2021 collaborative album with Merky Waters which we covered as a Pick Of The Week. The new album sees her moving away from the hip-hop sounds crafted on Existing and more towards the indie-pop realm.
Today we are very excited to be premiering the third single from Properesque, a track called “Take Me Out Dancing”. The new song veers away from the upbeat indie-pop of the first two singles and showcases a quieter, sultry side to Ava Wild’s repertoire.
The song was inspired by getting kicked out of a bar for being too young and missing the musical act she was hoping to see play. Rather than sulk, Wild danced her way home alone instead while singing “My age is tired; but my heart wants fun; I promise to stay out of trouble- I’m dressed properesque enough for this occasion”.
Enjoy the track below and lookout for Ava Wild’s Properesque release shows in Regina on Sept. 16ht at The Cure and in Saskatoon on Sept. 17th at Amigos.
