Video premiere: Millions - Innerouter
Innerouter has had a hell of a journey to get to the release of their debut record Get Real, coming out later this year. The band was originally active in the Vancouver music scene under the band name Get Real from 2013-2016, and they recorded their debut record but the group fell apart before the record could be finished. Fast forward to 2021 in Calgary, and some of the band members reconnected and formed innerouter, completing their debut record under the new band name. We’re excited to premiere the music video for “Millions”, the third single from the upcoming record.
“Millions” feels like a journey into an unknown and fascinating landscape, all underpinned by a melancholic and hummable melody. The accompanying video echoes this feeling, with particle effected images all disassembling and reassembling, each image only recognizable for a moment before it scatters and disappears. The song is the sonic equivalent of sinking into bedsheets fresh out of the dryer after a long night of drinking; your head might be spinning, but there’s comfort and warmth underpinning the proceedings, whether it be the tight vocal harmonies or the soothing ‘noise-bath’ style arrangement.
Get Real will be released later this year, with some copies already in independent record stores in Vancouver and Calgary. You can check out the music video for “Millions” below.
