Caity Fisher
Party Games // Independent
Caity Fisher’s “Party Games” is a gem. The sound and lyrics bring you back to all those mornings you’ve had stumbling home as the sun comes up. You sleep the entire day away in regret only to do the same thing the next night. The music itself has an amazing hazy, garage sound that is becoming characteristic of Edmonton’s music scene. What keeps Fisher on top of the heap is her brutally honest (and sometimes overly graphic) way of portraying the less appetizing parts of life (and life in Edmonton). It’s really refreshing to hear somebody be so brutally honest. This album makes you want to party less. It may also make you want to party more so you’ll be able to connect with it in a more meaningful way as you stumble home at 5am with the prairie sun starting to rise over the horizon.
