This music demands your attention, expect to want to listen to this album over and over. Self described as “future-folk,” Davies creates gorgeous soundscapes that do indeed seem to have some sort of futuristic/computer age feel. I’ve listened to this album around 10 times now and still have problems trying to figure it out. Strange yet beautiful, docile yet callous, melancholic yet optimistic,
the album seems to contradict its mood at every turn. Perhaps this is a review by somebody that hasn’t explored this album enough to properly pinpoint exactly what makes it so damn good. Or, maybe the thing that makes this album so special is its unclassifiable qualities.
