Dorothea Paas - Think of Mist

Telephone Explosion Records

Released on November 24th, 2024

Like a soft and smooth breeze washing over you, Dorothea Paas’ newest album Think of Mist is perfect for the stressed out music lovers out there. From front to back this record with its simple, softspoken instrumentation, infectiously catchy melodies, and angelically performed vocals, this album is likely to keep me calm and concentrated throughout the rest of the year.

When first listening to this album, I was midway through a downright awful day, I feared there was no salvation for me on that day. My fears were soon proven completely incorrect once I turned Think of Mist on. Like getting tucked into bed after a long day or being whisked away into the clouds. The production on this album is so light and airy it’s hard not to close your eyes and let this sonically serene record just transport you into a place of pure calm.

One thing about me is that I love a lush soundscape, this certainly delivers on that. With the Paas’ beautiful, layered vocals, and sweeping tender score beneath it, I highly recommend listening to this album in the car to understand the full effect.

Be sure to give this album a listen, especially my favourite track “Autumn Roses.”
