Cluttered, Big Day, STRETCH, and Star Thistle

Cluttered – Accidents

From Halifax-based punk band Cluttered comes their sophomore EP, Accidents, a four track album featuring drum fills, overdriven guitars, and self-deprecating lyrics. Accidents is a classic punk rock release with a poppy twist, making this quartet of songs all the more catchy and digestible, delivering the listener a brief glimpse back to their misspent youth.

Big Day – Greatest Hits

A mellow blend of indie, country, and a hint of psychedelic sound, Regina-based Big Day presents their debut album, a ‘Greatest Hits’ album with six new songs that accentuate the aforementioned genre-salad. This release has appeal to a variety of people, from fans of early 2000’s alt-rock, to enjoyers of the oldies - country tracks from the mid 20th century.

STRETCH – Flowering

Edmonton’s STRETCH delivers a five song EP that goes full force with a garage rock sound chalk full of distortion, ever changing time signatures, and charming eccentricity. Flowering is a fast paced powerhouse that delivers to the listener a sense of joy and fun that can otherwise be formed from the creation of the album itself.

Star Thistle – The Best of Star Thistle

Winnipeg’s Star Thistle (Uncle Sinner) releases his first album, a ‘Best of’ collection of folk songs complete with Sinner’s raspy vocals, sombre lyricism, minimalist drum patterns, and the lush finger picking of a guitar. This is a beautiful album speckled in Sinner’s blood, sweat, and tears - a must listen for fans of roots and americana.
