Dried Out, Tired Cossack, Pompey, and PHUTURE MEMORIEZ
Dried Out – It Feels Alright
Opening with feedback and heavy guitars, this ten piece treat from Vancouver’s Dried Out is a punk-y gift with hard hitting, roaring vocals, tight drums, and a jamming bass. For fans of the hardcore and the fast paced, this ought to be right up your alley.
Tired Cossack – Hocus Pocus
The debut LP from Winnipeg musician Tired Cossack, Hocus Pocus features a genre salad that blurs the lines between indie rock and punk in a refreshing package. With some catchy instrumentals like the rhythm guitar of the fourth track “Drink from the Don”, this is a great breakout release bound to perk up your ears.
Pompey – Overwhelmed
From Montreal’s Pompey is Overwhelmed, “a pandemic album created out of a need for comfort”. These 12 tracks exude comfort and inner peace through its soft delivery which can at times be quite extraordinary. A great example of this would be the fragmented beat of the eighth track “Hope”.
PHUTURE MEMORIEZ – Super Awesome Fantastic Distortion Machines
With an album that best describes itself, the newest eight track release from Vancouver’s PHUTURE MEMORIEZ is an electronic powerhouse bound to take you on an accelerated trip through its poppy sound and melancholy aesthetic, such as every song being titled after ways to die, with the exception of “Heaven” and “Axis Mundi”.
