Pony Girl - Enny One Wil Love You
This is one of the few times I recognize an artist within a band - specifically Yolande Laroche, who’s collaborated with the first artist I covered for Cups N’ Cakes, Nick Schofield. Reminiscing aside, this new release from Ottawa’s Pony Girl is a collaborative blend of art rock with pieces of electronica, and even chiptune. Its range goes from light and bubbly to dark and foreboding, and is an overall great listen for those who appreciate variety.
Hanorah - Perennial
This is the debut full length release from Montreal’s Hanorah. Soulful and romantic, this release has some catchy instrumentals akin to a modern day ballroom. Hanorah’s vocal prowess goes full force with some light R&B vibes. With lyrics that reflect comfort in conflict, this album is the peace of mind inside a head of inner turmoil.
Anna Arrobas - Made To Touch
What a labor of love - this new release from Anna Arrobas was two years in the making. With the help of some talented friends, Made To Touch is a ten piece album with cinematic tones and dreamy vocals. Blending serenity and chaos in beautiful coexistence, this is truly a listening experience.
