The Flatliners, J3M, Brutal Poodle, and bRavenous

The Flatliners - New Ruin

Based out of Toronto, The Flatliners take the guttural screams and heavy chords from genres such as punk and thrash, and blends it with this seamless transition into melodic vocals and a softer rock sound. It’s post-punk at its finest, and the variety of sound it provides has a bit for everyone.

J3M - AFRONAUT

With lyrical themes that dwell into sci-fi, this new release from Toronto’s J3M is an amalgamation of pop, soul, and R&B in a way that immediately catches your ears and treats them to four tracks that’ll reach your heart strings and pull them up and out of the atmosphere. This album is a real tear jerker.

Brutal Poodle - HI APATHY

Following up on my introduction to Brutal Poodle with their recent single “Drainage”, HI APATHY is eight tracks that fix the itch I’ve had for their alternative rock sound. Reminiscent of the punk and grunge of the 90s, this album is bound to take you back to a haunted house of nostalgia.

bRavenous - Ghosts of Rockingham Vol 2

This newest release from hip-hop artist bRavenous is a seventeen track compendium of musical excellence. Featuring samples from The Beastie Boys and Aesop Rock and rhymes from Ghettosocks and Wordburglar, this makes an album that’s instantly iconic - a modern classic. You can’t go much deeper into the Canadian hip-hop scene than this.
