Zoon, Nick Faye, Chris Page, and So Hum
Zoon - A Sterling Murmuration EP
This new release from Toronto’s Zoon is a four track EP that blends shoegaze and folk with an experimental twist. My favorite track is “In the Woods” which features one of the most immersive listening experiences contained within a single song. Their ability to convey a scene through sound alone is truly breathtaking.
Nick Faye - Gettin’ Better EP
Exploring love, loss, and the complicated emotions in between, this new release is five songs of songs that hold a timeless tone in his brand of rock and roll. This release has songs that I relate with heavily, especially the one lyric about eating taquitos alone in a parking lot.
Chris Page - My Turn At The Wheel EP
I love Chris Page’s Saturday night/Sunday morning series of songs, which features a folk and rock rendition of the same song. I love how it reinterprets the same lyrics in a new light, almost sounding like a cover of himself. It’s cool to see the versatility behind musical material.
so hum - so hum
Somewhere in Toronto, two brothers are making music together. They call themselves so hum. They’re experimental and jazzy take on electronic music defies genre altogether. Featuring some delightful vocals, this is an album that pulls in your attention and keeps it for all nine songs. It’s like a subsonic lounge bar.
