Edmonton Motown-inspired surf-punk act, Bad Buddy unleashed their incredible debut album in the summer of 2020. The self-titled release is fierce (both lyrically and musically) and immediately grabbed our attention. You can listen to it as background music and dance your ass off, or dive-in for a deep listen and catch some expertly crafted, poignant lyrics. The album was named a “Pick Of The Week” when it dropped and later found a spot on our list of the “Best Albums Of 2020.”

Today we are very happy to premiere a new video from Bad Buddy for the track called "Fine Hunniez" from that self-titled record. The song is a tongue in cheek blast on the male gaze and the relentless poor male behaviour women suffer through on a daily basis.

Front person Emily Bachynski explains:

“I think that there is a lot that womxn put up with that is easily written off. It’s assumed that there are little things that can’t be helped because they just come with the territory… Things like cat-calls, wandering eyes and being told to smile - these should just roll off the back, right? Onward and upward and all that. In my experience, the ‘little things’ can compound when I have to deal with them over and over and over again until I just want to explode. “Fine Hunniez” embodies that feeling. It’s death by a thousand cuts, or in this case, explosion by a thousand sparks; rage by a thousand dumb-asses.”

The band (now recently a three piece after the departure of bassist Alex Vissia) self-produced the video in one day, driving to different locations all over Edmonton and making up the choreography on-the-fly. The result is an incredible video that we are very excited to share with you today.
