Video premiere: Amos the Kid - From the Attic

Today, the Cups N Cakes Network is pleased to premiere a new live video from Winnipeg sensation Amos the Kid. The video arrives shortly after the release of his brilliant new record Enough as It Was, and just before Amos takes off on a short Western Canadian tour.

The video features songs both from his new record, as well the much beloved song “Island of Troubles” from Amos’ 2021 EP No More New Ideas. The video is part of a series from Argyle Studios in Winnipeg, and  is a collaboration between Argyle Studio’s award-winning engineer Cam Loeppky (Sloan, Weakerthans, Greg MacPherson) and the video production duo of Tom Elvers and Mike Requeima.

From Amos:

“Our new album is finally out into the world, and to say we’re thrilled is an understatement. We can't wait to hit the road in Western Canada on tour later this month. This live session is a good snippet of what to expect!”

You can find Amos the Kid touring through Saskatchewan, Alberta, and BC throughout May at the dates and venues listed below. In the meantime, you can buy yourself a copy of Enough as It Was on Bandcamp here.

Upcoming Canadian Tour Dates:

May 19 – O'Hanlon's – Regina, SK

May 20 – Capitol Music Club – Saskatoon, SK

May 21 – The Aviary – Edmonton, AB

May 23 – Modern Love – Calgary, AB

May 25 – Green Auto – Vancouver, BC

"I did it all very DIY. Everything you see was me learning on the fly. I'm a carpenter not a musician, or a journalist, or a publicist... I'm a carpenter and a weird crazy music fan that thought he could do something fun that might benefit something I care about"

Over the years, MacCallum's commitment to elevating Canadian music earned him a spot as a Polaris Prize Juror, a WCMA Juror, a consultant for music festival curation, and a dear friend to independent music in Canada.
