Wiidaaseh, Prince Bunny, betaboys, and Bud
Wiidaaseh – “216”
“216” weaves history, fantasy, and aggressive theatrics into a thick kevlar vest of a single. The song tells the tale of a skinwalker liberating Kamloops Indian Residential School. Wiidaaseh’s First Nation background fuels the fury in his vocals as he metaphorically butchers the god fearing people that viciously attempted to destroy his heritage.

Prince Bunny – “Spring”
“Spring” is the newest single from Edmonton’s Prince Bunny, a synthpop duo that dwells in gushy sentiment. “Spring” uses vintage drum machines, reverberated acoustics, and soft, bubbly synths to accentuate romantic lyrics about lovers returning into each other’s arms and spending time together. It’s a cute single that warms the ears all the way to the heart.
betaboys – So Shy EP
betaboys’ So Shy EP is a love letter to the synth-laden, neo-punk aspects of new wave from the 1980’s and seasons it with spice from the genres that arose in the years after. This four track EP is a fun release that indulges in nostalgia and creativity to form a poppy EP held tight with danceable beats.
Bud – BUD I: Point of Reference
From a basement in Calgary emerges the debut album from Bud, a three piece punk band. This twelve track album is a great starting point for the band, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Fast paced, heavily distorted, and chalk full of profanity, this is a spectacular album for those with a rebellious side.
